The following was a submission for a university assignment, the task was to develop a design concept and a prototype for an interactive mobile system, application or service, along the lines of “Sustainable Food Choices for Students”. This project began in groups, where we identified a potential solution to the problem of improving the sustainability of student’s diets. The chosen approach was an app which let users compare their food choices with eco-friendly alternatives. Further development of this concept was then conducted individually, which lead to the creation of a website prototype designed for mobile screens. Conducting user research and reviewing secondary sources of information to make informed design decisions led to the creation of a user-friendly website called ‘FoodSense’.
